”There were three bands on the bill tonight!! Two of which i was not interested in, i can’t even recall their names right now and i don’t care!! I came here for Bo Ningen and they did not disappoint!! I’ve nver heard their stuff before so again i was coming to this show blind!! How do you describe them?? I’d say punk with very long hair and psychedelic acid overtones!! I have long hair, very long hair, their hair is very long too and was used regularly in bouts of spontaneous head thrashing!! This head thrashing was vigorous and for one member of the band. Kohhei Matsuda i think, kind of inadvisable because he lost his footing and pulled leads out of his effects array!! I am reminded of another Japanese band i’ve been listening to recently called Speed, Glue and Shinki! Who are Speed, Glue and Shinki i hear you ask!! Patience!! The links will come at the end of this review!! Anyway, Bo Ningen are a four piece comprising of Taigen Kawabe (Bass/Vocals), Yuki Tsujii (Guitar), Kohhei Matsuda (Guitar) and Monchan Monna (Drums). Everything is played with urgency tempered by a hypnotic bass that didn’t lose that hypnotic quality even when 16th notes and above were played. Bo Ningen are not some band!!! They are a band, a band that had me leaving the venue very satisfied!! Who needs a starter when the main course had so much promise!!
